Job description:

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) will provide assessment and treatment located in a retail setting for acute medical conditions as well as screening for chronic disease. The FNP will work independently to diagnosis and treat a limited scope of medical illness, prescribe medications, in addition to wellness health screenings and medical tests, in a retail setting, to meet community need for accessibility, affordability and high quality health care. The FNP will work in collaboration with other clinicians to provide a gateway to other health-related services.

Major responsibilities included but not limited to:
Provide Primary Care Services for patients 4 years of age through 64 years.

Utilize a wide range of skills, including screening for disease, educating and counseling, promoting wellness and making timely referrals.

Provide appropriate evidence-based treatment.

Provide episodic care for minor problems.

Assess for risk and provide healthcare guidance.

Order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests, pharmacological and durable goods.

Perform real-time electronic medical record charting.

Conduct business transactions and daily operations of the retail clinic, including but not limited to, ordering supplies, patient registration, handling methods of payments and providing documentation and receipts.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:

Education:
Masters Degree in Nursing or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification:
Family Nurse Practitioner must meet all the regulatory requirements for licensure, certification and education and be recognized to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the State of Oregon.

Valid Oregon Nurse Practitioner license

Have national prescriptive drug privileges with a DEA number.

Board Accreditation with ANCC and/or ACNP certification.

Experience:
Two years of experience in a family medicine clinic is preferred. New grads maybe considered.

Special Skills Required:
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to maintain a high standard of professionalism in all activities undertaken in the retail clinic environment, collaborating with others to assure ongoing program for quality assurance through appropriate peer review and established quality measures. Ability to work with confidence in an independent fashion within the scope of services offered in the retail setting. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
