Job description:
The Nursing Education Specialist practices in accordance with the ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Development Practice. Using advanced expertise in educational/staff development practices, functions autonomously and in collaboration with staff nurses, managers, faculty, and researchers to develop, implement and evaluate staff development programs that promote
synergistic nursing practice and patient outcomes. Relevant Licensure: ACLS, ACLS-I, BLS, BLS-I,CPR, FA, HCP, NALS, NALS-I, PALS, PALS-I

I. Assesses and diagnoses learning needs of staff, service lines and organization
through the use of broad spectrum educational assessments.
II. Employ expert diagnostic skills in differentiating educational/learning needs
from process and system needs.
III. Designs high quality and frequently complex programs based on sound
theoretical knowledge, best practices and practical experience.
IV. Develops, employs and evaluates new educational methodologies to yield
greatest positive impact.
V. Maintains and uses knowledge of best practice in education/staff development
and change as well as in area of specialty.
VI. Uses both summative and formative evaluation to determine and communicate
effectiveness of programs to create change at the individual, service-line and
department level as appropriate.
VII. Monitors resource consumption and redesign educational processes to maximize resource utilization.
VIII. Designs and implements reliable and valid methods to validate competency and learning.
IX. Recognizes and adjusts teaching methods based on the vulnerability and
resiliency of learner.
X. Teaches and coaches others in program planning and development.
XI. Assumes active role in the development of practice standards and guidelines for staff development/education.
XII. Leads out in QI/PI initiatives in the CNER and coaches others as needed.
XIII. Actively participates in decision making, creating change and developing
knowledge at the CNER, service line, nursing department and professional levels.

Registered Nurse-TX

5 Years experience
Proficient with MS Office Applications
